BTW What is a Hootenanny?
In a 1962 interview in Time Joan Baez made the analogy that a hootenanny is to folk singing what a jam session is to jazz. But for our purpose a Hootenanny is essentially a glorified Screen on the Green. May’s movie night was originally planned with an eco-friendly theme in mind. We decided to add a native plant sale to the event to raise funds for the native plants for the 420 Nature Path. To draw attention to the plant sale we added the Seed and Feed Marching Abominables. It was at that point we thought we had something deserving a title. Hence, The Hootenanny!
